Nail Plates

Nail plates are flat, galvanised steel connectors primarily used to join timber members together quickly, securely, and economically. They are a staple in timber construction, offering reinforcement and splicing capability that traditional nailing alone cannot match.

Key Types and Features:

  1. Nailplates
    • These plates have in-built, bent-up nails or teeth stamped directly into the steel.
    • Installation: They are fixed by simply hammering the knuckles, driving the teeth into the timber. No separate nails or special pressing equipment is required.
    • Use: Ideal for on-site applications like jointing wall frames together, splicing timber beams, and reinforcing bolted joints or corners of boxes/bins.
  2. Nail-On Plates
    • These are flat plates with pre-punched holes designed for field installation using separate nails or screws .
    • Use: Suited for joining timber of the same thickness, heavy-duty connections where a knuckle plate may not suffice, on-site truss repair/assembly, joining beams, and general timber reinforcement.
